SSD Upgrades
SSD Upgrades or Solid State Drives come in two forms:
• NVMe
• SATA
The fastest and newer models are NVMe modules. In appearance these look more like Memory Modules. The port is usually fixed into the Motherboard of compatible PC’s and they don’t rely on cables like older SATA Drives. Most modern PC and Notebooks come with NVMe modules as these things are fast, really fast. Like never wait for your hard drive again fast!
SATA or Serial ATA are the older forms of drives and were designed to replace the SATA mechanical drives that they succeed. SATA still has a place in some new computers especially if you opted for the more budget-conscious PC. This also makes SATA drives the most popular choice when it comes to upgrading old mechanical drives.

FAQ's
The IT Fella knows just how difficult it is to lose access to your computer for even a few hours. In most cases I can have your computer back to you same day!
Sometimes it may be necessary to take your computer for slightly longer. Usually this is just overnight and I have it back to you the next day.
In all honesty it is difficult to tell. This is partly down to the software you have installed on your computer already and other components such as Memory and Processor. But let me give you an idea of past jobs.
8-10 year old machine
Startup time to point of opening a program = 1 min 52 seconds.
Following the Upgrade = 23 Seconds.
This particular customer did still notice that when using the computer it was slower than they expected but still much quicker. This was purely down to the processor being older and slower.
2-3 Year old machine
Startup time to open a program = 1 min 26 seconds
After upgrade of SSD and Memory = 14 seconds
This customer was really pleased with the upgrade. It made such a huge improvement on what they were used to.
Absolutely. As part of the upgrade we clone your current drive to the new SSD. This means an exact copy of your current data stays on your existing drive, so in effect you have two copies. We leave the original drive in your computer when we hand it back to you, after all it’s yours with your data.
